Has Black America Progressed?

This is a question I have been contemplating recently. I can only come to the conclusion of no. Black America has not made any progress. We have been stagnant since the 1960's. If there is proof otherwise I have not found it yet. Here are a few Black in America timelines:




We are still in a struggle for equal civil rights. What will it take to progress?

Ntozake Shange and “For Colored Girls”

I stumbled across Ntozake Shange after a google search of young black writers. The most recent article was from 2010. It was an article from The Root . Maybe I should have googled modern black writers. My point is that this is how I found Ntozake Shange. It appears that her poem has been cited in a few movies. This is the first one.
