Everyone is entitled to my opinion, too. Erika's View is looking for some advice. What do you use or do to promote your blog? Are there any helpful tips you can suggest? Please leave your comments here.
My advice is to go out there and create your own community. That is what I do and it has proven successful. I also have the blogosphere widget on my blog as well and that helps me to shoot around and leave comments on other blogs; if you can do this, then you will get the exposure that you are looking for.
Comment on other blogs. Not just commenting to get exposure, but comment because you're actually interested in the post or have genuine questions. I can tell and most other bloggers can tell when it is comment spam which will just turn them off in the long run. Of course, content is king, and if your content is top notch your blog will begin to promote itself. I'm far from an expert though, these are just my opinions, and I'm working hard to improve my content. I also have a few manual traffic exchanges that I use from time to time when I have the time. I don't think that traffic is all that high of quality, but maybe someone will see my blog and become interested??
i don't promote my blog. at least not on purpose i guess. i mean people see it on mybloglog. i just write what i want to write, and if folks like it, they will come. if not, hey...
like marcus said, build your community. also, on top of that, use all those social networking sites such as stumbleupon, digg, mybloglog, blogcatalog, and the list goes on... submit your site to ALL directories and rss feed sites... write great articles, basically continue what you've been doing :-D get as any backlinks as you can, and get your pagerank up... check out DatMoney.com when you get a chance, i think there should be some helpful tips...
